About the role
This is a broad and strategic executive role that spans financial leadership, enterprise-wide influence, and transformational delivery. As Chief Financial Officer, you’ll work closely with the CEO and Board to shape NZME’s financial direction, lead capital and investment strategies, and play a key role in strategic initiatives including M&A, risk management, and growth planning.
You’ll lead a diverse team portfolio which delivers financial insight and commercial rigour to the organisation. Your role ensures that the finance function is proactive, data-driven, and a tech-enabled business partner.
Your ability to influence beyond the numbers, partner closely with other executive leaders, support and encourage innovation, and to lead with clarity and with a commercial mindset is required. This role calls for strong leadership, commercial acumen, and the ability to turn complexity into actionable, performance-driving outcomes.
Who are we looking for?
We're looking for a strong finance leader who combines strong technical capability with commercial foresight, calm but energising executive presence, and proven high-impact leadership that drives organisational performance and delivers measurable results. You’ll be a CA or CPA-qualified executive, with a tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, or Business, and 15+ years of experience in senior finance roles.
You’ll bring experience within complex, multi-entity environments, ideally listed, and preferably in media, FMCG, or technology. You’ll have led finance transformation initiatives, guided M&A and capital market activity, and implemented digital tools to support insight and efficiency.
Beyond your technical toolkit, your strength lies in your ability to partner, lead and influence at the highest levels. You’ll be collaborative, pragmatic, and action-oriented, with a leadership style that lifts people around you and sharpens business performance.
