Sam Johnson
Known for turning ambitious ideas into impactful realities, Sam brings extensive leadership experience across business, governance, social impact, and entrepreneurship, with a strong focus on building organisations and initiatives that create meaningful long-term value.
Most well known as the founder & CEO of the Student Volunteer Army (SVA), Sam scaled the organisation into one of New Zealand’s most recognised community and youth movements, leading large-scale responses to crises, disasters, and community initiatives across the country.
Sam is also Projects Director at STILL (our parent company), where he manages internal projects, startups, and ideas that contribute to the STILL 100 programme.
Sam is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors and was recognised as the 2023 Auckland Emerging Director of the Year. He has received numerous leadership awards, including Young New Zealander of the Year, Communicator of the Year, and the Blake Leadership Award.
